What got me started???? About 10 years ago I was at a State Fair. A moment in time that will forever stay a vivid picture in my memory. Over the loud speaker a voice announced that a rare breed of horse was about to enter the arena. A horse from the time of medieval knights, armor, and castles. Here is the majestic Friesian Horse from...... That was all I heard as I saw the coal blackness of his coat, long wavy mane, and heavy feathered fetlocks. Suddenly and very unexpectedly I could barely breathe. I had a huge lump in my throat and tears started to fall from my eyes. I had seen my first Friesian.


I bought my first Friesian a few years later from a nice farm in Sisters Oregon in 1999. I raised my Friesian filly and still have her today, "Tesseke". My first Friesian foal was born on a warm June Summers night in 2002, "Halle". That was the first foal I had ever seen born and my mare's first as well. There was a tremendous sense of trust between my mare and I, another wonderful memory that I hold dear to my heart.


The day my Friesian filly was born I realized that my angels did not have wings, they had FEATHERS! Not long after that our logo was started, "Got Feathers"


I have taken on new interest in importing Friesians from the Netherlands. I have met some of the nicest people back east in Virginia who have been an inspiration to me both professionally and personally. The Friesians growing popularity is a true sign of the breeds versatility, honest disposition, and unique beauty. I am truly honored and grateful to own a piece of the black magic. My own...
